SYNOPSIS:

The story opens on a distressing accident scene as Liam Hunter, age 65, carries his seriously injured daughter Mya from the collision site. Mya lies unconscious, bleeding from a concerning head injury, clad in her wedding dress which represents a celebration fatefully destroyed. Hurt, Mya’s sister Naomi staggers from one of the vehicles involved. As fire spreads, Liam desperately tries to rescue Mya’s groom-to-be, Adam Crawford who lies limply in the driver’s seat. Eventually, he manages to extricate Chloe, Mya’s little girl, from the backseat.

At the hospital in the aftermath, Mya is in critical condition in the ICU while Liam and Adam keep vigil, wracked with remorse over the catastrophe. Adam with serious wounds. Liam reads a get well card from Chloe and scrolls through family photos, pausing meaningfully on a headstone engraved with his late wife Grace’s name, hinting at prior bereavement. Liam contends with declining health and haunting visions of his deceased wife Grace, seen coughing up blood indicating critical illness.

Meanwhile, Naomi has brought young Chloe home, the child peppering her with heartbreaking questions about when her mother and family will be whole again. Unexpectedly, Chloe’s friend Emma comes over. Their Identical white teddy bears suggest a mystical connection between the girls. Emma’s bizarre bond through her blood-filled necklace grows more prominent when her equally supernatural-linked mother, Isabella, pays a visit.

Chloe is overjoyed when Liam stops by the house, but her happiness is short-lived as Liam’s anger confuses and scares her, keeping her distance. Back at the hospital, Mya shows tentative signs of recovery, but succumbs to her injuries. Liam spirals out of hopelessness, getting drunk and headingto the cemetery with a gun, where one would assume to end his own life.

Next to Grace's headstone, Liam yanks the tarp off a freshly dug grave, pulls out his gun, only to fire it at the tarp, encapsulating his inner turmoil and decision to endure the anguish. The conclusion ultimately reveals Liam as the sole survivor, visiting a temporary white cross listing the names of his family all lost in the crash. Liam shares news of a clean bill of health, subtlysuggesting his choice to continue living holds resonance despite the unthinkable grief.
